The Aquis CF range of canister filters are rapidly becoming the UK's favourite external filter range and it's not really surprising. No other canister filter range offers the same blend of performance and value, coupled with fantastic spares support from Aquarium Parts. From the baby CF500 to the big daddy CF1200, the Aquis Canister FIlters come complete all necessary pipework, connectors and accessories. They are also jam packed with great quality filter media - no empty compartments here. Maintenance could not be easier: switch the filter off, turn off the taps, spin off the quick disconnection couplings and take the filtration canister away for cleaning - dead easy. Many of the filtration elements rinse out for a few months and should only need replacing twice per year. The very fine Polymer polishing pad supplied with each filter should be change on each clean out (4 to 6 weeks) and the biological media should only ever be exchange a little at a time to keep it's performance at an optimal level. Whilst it's hard to improve on these filters, we do find that an added net bag containing some Chemicarb or, even better, some Aqua One Advance Carb yields real benefits in terms of crystal clarity and is fantastic for removing yellowness caused by overfeeding the use natural bogwood. Do bear in mind, when choosing from the Aquis Canister Filter range, that if your aquarium is heavily stocked or contains messy or very choosy fish such as Discus, Cichlids or Marines, it's always a safe bet to choose the filter size up from the one you might otherwise require.
